Open Circles

In Circles, we are able to create a safe space where men can speak freely about their issues, their triumphs, their struggles, their grief, their disappointments, their joys and their sadness. The very act of telling their story brings healing, clarity and resolution. Other men’s hearts are touched by the stories being told, and this in turn brings their own issues to the surface.

In these Circles, the speaker expresses his feelings without fear of interruption or judgement or scorn. He does not have to persuade or to elicit approval. In fact, no comment is given unless the speaker specifically asks for it, in which case the elders would impart their wisdom and give guidance and others might share their similar experiences.

By bringing their issues out into the Circle, men no longer feel alone and isolated, but allow themselves to feel supported. The support is subject to some principles: weakness or victimhood is not supported; full responsibility must be taken for one's life; limiting beliefs are challenged; men are encouraged to become aware of and embrace the dark and suppressed parts of themselves.

These Circles are very effective in bringing about personal growth and increasing self-awareness. Members of the Circles find that they are better equipped to face their everyday challenges and are able to engage life with an open heart.
